It is now being reported that Mr. Ofer Ben-Ari HY’D, 46, is the Israeli who was killed in the Shar Yaffo stabbing attack by mistaken border police gunfire. Ben-Ari is survived by his wife and two children. He was hit by gunfire as police tried to neutralize the two Palestinian terrorists. Ben-Ari’s family is calling for an inquiry into the attack and the actions of police.

Also murdered in the attack was Aish HaTorah rebbe Rabbi Reuven Biermacher HY’D, 45, who was earlier reported to have been killed by the mistaken gunfire, but it is now reported he died of multiple stab wounds inflicted by the terrorists. Rav Biermacher, who worked for the yeshiva’s Spanish program, is survived by his rebitzen and seven children. He was a resident of Kiryat Yearim, Telshe Stone.

Levaya information for the victims to be announced. One person remains in serious condition in Shaare Zedek Hospital.
